The construction process for the ITALGRIP®
System has four phases.
The system can be applied in various widths and in the presence of traffic.
|
Cleaning
the existing pavement
Clean deposits of dust, road oils, gasoline, etc., from road surface.
|
|
Apply
the resin
Using a special spray truck, a specific quantity of resin (lb/sq.
ft.) is applied according to surface characteristics of the pavement.
|
|
Apply
the Aggregate
Using a conventional chip-spreader, the aggregate (MC-1) is applied
immediately after the resin is applied.
|
|
Remove
excess aggregate
After the resin hardens (2 – 4 hours) the excess aggregate
is removed using a vacuum sweeper.
|
The formulation of the epoxy binder and the on-board computer controls
assure a continuous and uniform application. The time to reopening the
road to traffic is greatly reduced.
The maximum amount of ITALGRIP® the equipment can
place in one sixteen-hour day is 15,000 lineal feet.
