The parent company, Italgrip Srl was started in the
1980’s as a consequence of experience of the company’s founder
while working for Tecnozeta, an Italian company specializing in the
road maintenance field.
Between 1985 and 1986, a team of Italian scientists and engineers worked
to develop a synthetic aggregate with the desired characteristics of
incomparable hardness and polishing values. The result was the development
of MC-1™, the aggregate used in the ITALGRIP®
System.
The following year, a specially designed epoxy resin was developed to
act as a binding system between the MC-1™ aggregate
and the road surface.
At the same time a fully computerised spray truck that would place an
even film of epoxy resin, 0,5-1,5 mm thick, was conceived, designed,
and built.

After nearly
10 years of experience in Italy, ITALGRIP® was introduced in
the US market.
The Milestones for the American Company include:
| 1998 |
The
Italgrip USA, Inc, ISA (Italgrip System of America) is established |
| 1999 |
The Italgrip
system has had positive evaluation results by HITEC, - this
evaluation is still underway |
| 1999 |
Arrangements
made for the resin to be producted in the US according to
a proprietary design. |
|
Both the parent company, Italgrip, Srl, and the American company, Italgrip
USA, Inc. are constantly striving to make their product better. Thus,
working relationships with some of the most prestigious research centers
in Europe, such as Padua University, La Sapienza University in Rome, The
European Research Centre in Ispra, the Italcementi Research Laboratory
in Bergamo, and the Schniering Laboratories in Germany, have been formed
through the years, continually evolving ITALGRIP® System,
making it an even better and more effective product for the safety of
the travelling public.
